Greater Montreal's public transit is changing in Spring 2026. Here's what you need to know

In Spring 2026, the REM network extends to the West Island with the new Anse-à-l’Orme A3 branch. These new stations are expected to open: Des Sources, Fairview-Pointe-Claire, Kirkland and Anse-à-l’Orme.

If you travel in the West Island or regularly take the REM, chances are that your usual commute will change.

This new branch is part of a growing réseau express métropolitain, which is expected to connect to the Montreal Airport in 2027 (the future Marie-Curie and YUL–Aéroport-Montréal-Trudeau stations).
